    What are the advantages of No Carbon Required Carbonless Form Paper?

    Carbonless form paper is ideal for maintaining a carbon copy of a form, commonly associated with a business transaction. This copy can be provided as a receipt to a customer, for record keeping purposes or other.

    Carbonless forms are often referred to as No Carbon Required paper and are available in 2-part forms, 3-part forms, 4-part forms or 5-part carbonless paper.

    Many businesses often use these forms for creating a carbon copy of an invoice, invoice books, receipt book or other business forms. This type of form paper is coated to allow for the transfer of written or typed data to additional pages (such as in a 2 part carbonless form).

    What are the Standard Color Sequence?

    How Do Carbonless Forms Work?

    Carbonless paper eliminates the need for traditional carbon sheets by using a special chemical coating to transfer writing from one sheet to another.

    The Science Behind Carbonless Paper

    Each sheet in a carbonless form is coated with microscopic capsules of dye and clay, which work together to create a duplicate copy:

    1.) Top Sheet (CB - Coated Back):

    The back of the first sheet is coated with dye-filled micro-capsules. When firm pressure is applied (from writing with a ball point pen), these capsules break open.

    2.) Middle Sheet(s) (CFB - Coated Front and Back):

    If the form has more than two parts, the middle sheets serve as transfer layers. Their front is coated with a clay receptor, while the back contains micro-capsules like the top sheet. This allows multiple copies to be created.

    3.) Bottom Sheet (CF - Coated Front):

    The final sheet in the set has only the clay coating on the front. When the micro-capsules from the sheet above break, they react with the clay to produce a permanent copy. Since the coating is pressure-sensitive, the form duplicates any handwritten information, without smudging or requiring special ink(s).
